When do we have professional photographs taken? School pictures, then your wedding, and maybe a few family portraits in between. The item on my 101 list was to have my picture taken for my blog, but now that I have these photos (taken by the fabulous Katie Jane Parker), I'm so happy to have this time in my life captured. I'm feeling very lucky these days. I have someone in my life that I'm crazy about and we share an apartment that we adore. I love my job. My family and friends are healthy. Things are good! I will always remember these great times when I look at the pictures.
So don't wait until your wedding to get a nice picture of yourself. Things change and times are not always good. It is a nice to have a picture to help you remember when they were.

You are so right. I'm always telling people how important it is just to capture the special everyday moments... that you don't need a special occasion to have photos taken. It's all the days in between the special occasions that make up a life. But I'm SO bad at following my own advice! This is a good reminder to practice what I preach.
ReplyDeleteGood thinking -- Love the photo! Geoff (remember he used to be a professional photographer) always says that no matter how bad/old/fat you think you look now, in ten years you're gonna look back and think, golly, I looked good back then.
