Here is a painting my mom did of my brother Ben for his birthday.
I lit up when I saw this painting. If you know Ben, you will see that his joy and energy have been captured perfectly. Happy Birthday Benny! I love ya!

Today's song is one of Ben's favorites, Bob Seger's Night Moves.

Keep It Coming!
I've been MIA lately. In the face of what has happened in Haiti, I have been finding it impossible to come up with any Positively posts. But today CNN reported that over $200 million has been donated for the relief effort. This news has raised my heart, slightly. Haiti has a long road to recovery, but with that kind of worldwide support, we have to believe it is possible.
Keep it up! If you have already given, consider giving again. They need it. If you haven't given already...THEY NEED IT!
Donate to the Red Cross here.

Here is a beautiful version of People Get Ready. Happy Martin Luther King Day everyone.

A License Plate To Live By
My dad spotted this license plate the other day. I don't think it is fair that only one person gets to sport this universal warning.

Good find Dad!

Today's song is the great Beach Boy's cruising song, I Get Around.

Making the Best Out of the Worst Situation
Is there anything worse than being stuck at the airport? Don't even think about it. The answer is NO THERE IS NOT!
Check out the scene below, taken on Sunday at Newark Airport. 10,000 people were forced out of their terminals and back through security because someone went the wrong way through security earlier. This picture = worst nightmare.
But as you know, it is not our habit here at PositivelyAnna to just show you nightmares. The point of this post is to applaud the best effort I've ever seen to bring a little cheer to bad situation. Well done!
Song of the Day
Seemed only fitting that today's song should be Hey Jude.

Not Just For New Years
First off...Happy New Years! I hope your first day back at work was quick and full of resolution.
Matt and I threw a little party on New Year's Eve. A fun gathering with some good friends. We made a champagne bar, which I now want to have for every party. We had plenty of champagne and set out some yummy mixers: OJ, cranberry juice and peach juice. We also had raspberries and cranberries to use as garnishes. We got small, plastic champagne glasses which were perfect for sampling loads of different cocktails. The champagne bar is definitely going into our arsenal of fun, easy party musts.
Tell me how you spent your New Year's Eve.

Today's song is Champagne High. SO appropriate!

101 Ideas for Your 101: The Best Inspiration
The best inspiration I found for my 101 list was reading other's lists. You should feel free to include their items in your list or just use them as thought starters. Here are a few of my favorites from other's 101's:
92. Study 6 different cultures per year; have a themed event for each with food, music, culture and geographical info for the family
93. Read a play and then see it performed
94. Write a letter to myself to open in 10 years
95. Watch all of AFI's 100 best movies of all time
96. Try a new restaurant every month
97. Make a soundtrack of my life
98. Get a bartender to name a drink after me
99. Teach someone something that I love to do
100. Win something!
And an item I think everyone should include on their list...
101. Record all your 101 adventures
Starting my 101 List was one of the best things I did in 2009. I hope I've inspired you to start your own.
